Why Soil pH Matters

Grass, plants, and trees thrive only when the soil pH is balanced. If the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, fertilizer becomes less effective and nutrients get locked up. Back To Nature’s targeted lime or sulfur applications restore that balance and unlock the nutrition your lawn needs.

Seasonal Soil Challenges

Weather swings, pests, and disease don’t just affect the grass; you can see the impact in the soil, too. Essential minerals like nitrogen and calcium shift out of balance, which weakens your lawn’s roots. Back To Nature’s soil care program helps keep your lawn resilient all year.

Our Soil Testing Process

Back To Nature technicians collect 10–12 soil cores (3–5 inches deep) throughout your yard. These samples are sent to a trusted third-party lab for analysis. You’ll get a detailed soil report with clear insights on pH and treatment recommendations to bring your lawn back in balance.

Soil Amendment Services

After your soil analysis, Back To Nature applies the right amendment, usually lime or sulfur, to adjust your soil’s pH. This helps create the perfect environment for fertilizer to work effectively, ensuring nutrients reach your grassroots where they’re needed most.

Benefits of a Balanced Soil pH

  • Nutrients become available more easily, fueling thicker, greener growth
  • Strengthens your lawn’s long-term health and resilience
  • Makes other Back To Nature treatments more effective
  • The ideal pH range for lawns is 6.0–7.0. Anything below 5.5 weakens growth potential

What Is Lime Treatment?

Lime naturally raises soil pH, improving the availability of nutrients. Grass can’t thrive in acidic soils, but with Back To Nature’s lime applications, fertilizer becomes more effective and lawns recover faster.
